Half-Time Report: Athletic Bilbao 0-3 Barcelona

Two goals from Pedro, seperated by a strike from Lionel Messi, give Barcelona a commanding 3-0 lead over Athletic Bilbao in the final of the Copa del Rey.

Barcelona have raced into a 3-0 lead after the first half of play in the Copa del Rey final.

The first goal came after just two minutes when Pedro latched onto a loose ball inside the area to smash home the opener.

Lionel Messi doubled Barca's advantage after 20 minutes with a right-footed shot into the roof of the net from a tight angle, beating Gorka Iraizoz at his near post.

Bilbao were left with a mountain to climb when Pedro grabbed his second of the game four minutes later. The winger guided a left-footed shot low across Iraizoz and into his right-hand corner.

Los Leones may have got back into the match had the referee awarded them a penalty after Gerard Pique looked to have brought Fernando Llorente down inside the area.

However, the referee waved play on and Marcelo Bielsa will have to perform miracles during the half-time interval to dig his side out of this hole.
