Barcelona team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Shakhtar Donetsk

Barcelona injury, suspension list vs. Shakhtar

Barcelona will be aiming to book their spot in the last-16 stage of the Champions League when they take on Shakhtar Donetsk in Hamburg on Tuesday night.

The Catalan giants are top of Group H on nine points, and a win or a draw against Shakhtar would see them advance to the knockout round of the competition with two games to spare.

Xavi's side will enter this match off the back of a victory, managing to record a 1-0 win over Real Sociedad in Spain's top flight on Saturday evening.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Barcelona's latest injury and suspension news ahead of their clash with Shakhtar, who are third in the section on three points.

Frenkie de Jong

Status: Major doubt Type of injury: Ankle Possible return date: November 7 (vs. Shakhtar)

De Jong was forced off against Celta Vigo towards the end of September due to an ankle injury and has not featured since. The midfielder is back in training, though, so there is a slight chance that he could be involved in this contest.

Sergi Roberto

Status: Out Type of injury: Calf Possible return date: November 12 (vs. Alaves)

Roberto suffered a calf problem in training over the October international break, and the Spaniard will again be unavailable for selection here, but he could be back against Alaves next weekend.

BARCELONA'S SUSPENSION LIST

Barcelona do not have any suspension concerns for this contest.
