Brazilian defender Miranda joins Inter Milan from Atletico Madrid

Inter Milan have confirmed the signing of defender Miranda from Atletico Madrid.

The 30-year-old Brazilian international passed a medical with the Serie A side on Wednesday.

He is understood to have joined Inter for around £11m.

"Internazionale is delighted to announce that the paperwork has been completed and delivered to the Lega Serie A offices for the transfer of Joao Miranda de Souza Filho from Club Atletico de Madrid," read a statement on the club's official website.

Miranda, who has played 21 times for Brazil, won five major trophies with Atletico during a three-year spell in Spain.
