Jackson Martinez denies Atletico Madrid exit talk

Atletico Madrid forward Jackson Martinez denies that he is already looking to leave the Vicente Calderon after reportedly struggling to settle in Spain.

Jackson Martinez has firmly denied suggestions that he is already looking to leave Atletico Madrid after struggling to settle in Spain.

The Colombian international joined Atletico from Porto in the summer having hit 92 goals across three seasons for the Portuguese club.

The 29-year-old has only netted three times for Atletico this season, however, and it had been claimed that he was looking for an exit as early as January.

Martinez, however, who picked up an ankle injury during Colombia's 2018 World Cup qualifier with Chile last week, has said that he is fully focused on matters at the Vicente Calderon.

"I try to adapt gradually, although I haven't produced as expected. The team has had good results. Personally I have to keep working," Martinez told reporters.

"[The support at Vicente Calderon] is a positive for me and it's a commitment too. I'll fight until the end and it's not in my head, as has been said, to leave next season.

"In my head is just to fight the most for this shirt. I'll stay as long as the club wants me. That's according to results, and we know that's the way it is."

Two of Martinez's three goals for Atletico have come in La Liga.
