Atletico Madrid confirm Thibaut Courtois stay

Atletico Madrid have confirmed that Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois will spend a third season on loan at the La Liga outfit.

The 21-year-old, who arrived at Chelsea from Genk in 2011, has yet to make a first-team appearance for the Premier League club.

However, his performances in Spain over the last two seasons have placed the Belgian as one of the best goalkeepers in Europe.

"Thibaut Courtois will return to Atletico Madrid next season after an agreement was reached between our club and Chelsea for him to play on loan for another year," read a statement on the club's official website.

Courtois conceded just 29 goals in La Liga last season.
