Player Ratings: Atletico Madrid 2-1 Eibar

Sports Mole takes a look at who impressed as Atletico Madrid beat Eibar 2-1 in La Liga on Saturday evening.

Goals from Miranda and Mario Mandzukic helped Atletico Madrid record a 2-1 win over Eibar this evening.

The La Liga champions stormed into a two-goal lead after 26 minutes, but Abraham Minero cut the deficit to one just past the 30-minute mark.

Eibar created the better chances in the second period, but could not find a leveller in the capital.

Here, Sports Mole takes a look at who impressed during the La Liga affair.

ATLETICO

Goal

Miguel Moya: Another calm and composed display from the Spaniard, who made a number of smart saves in the capital. Could do nothing with Abraham's stunning first-half effort. (7/10)

Defence

Juanfran: Usually an attacking force for Atletico, but struggled to make his mark in a forward position this evening. That said, his defensive work was solid enough. (6/10)

Miranda: Headed Atletico into an early lead and was his usual composed self in defensive areas. Alongside Godin, stood up well to the second-half threat from the away side. (7/10)

Diego Godin: Had a couple of nervy moments in the second period, but remained a calming influence alongside Miranda. Central defence is never an issue for the La Liga champions. (7/10)

Guilherme Siqueira: Threatened in an attacking sense in the second period, but was caught out defensively on a couple of occasions. Still bedding into his new surroundings. (6/10)

Midfield

Mario Suarez: Looked slightly laboured and off the pace in the middle of the park. Decent in possession, but failed to really protect his back four, especially in the second period. (6/10)

Gabi: Set up his side's second with a brilliant free kick and proved a steady presence in the middle of the park. A real surprise that he was not called into the latest Spain squad. (7/10)

Koke: Has another assist to his name after Miranda headed his corner into the back of the net, but was frustrated in the second period. That said, he was arguably his side's best player once again. (7/10)

Attack

Raul Garcia: Rare off night for the Spaniard, who has recently been so influential. Fired a couple of long-range efforts wide of the post and struggled to get into the match. (6/10)

Mario Mandzukic: Scored his first La Liga goal on his home debut with a clever header, but is still working his way to full fitness following the World Cup. (6/10)

Antoine Griezmann: Like Mandzukic, still does not look fully fit. Showed some nice touches and had a couple of half chances, but was largely frustrated by the Eibar defence. (6/10)

Substitutes

Raul Jimenez: Had a couple of half chances after entering as a second-half substitute. Did not have much service, but proved a decent outlet for his side in the latter stages. (6/10)

Saul Niguez: Introduced to tighten the midfield in the latter stages and performed that job well. The Spaniard is now an established part of the Atletico first-team squad. (6/10)

EIBAR

Goal

Xabi Irureta: Looked slightly nervous from set pieces, but was not helped out by poor marking from his defence. That said, his handling was solid and he made a couple of smart saves. (6/10)

Defence

Raul Navas: On-loan Real Sociedad defender impressed on his first start for Eibar. It was a calm and composed performance from the Spaniard. (7/10)

Eneko Boveda: Had a glorious chance to send his side level in the second period, but headed a Javi Lara free kick just wide of the post. Strong in the air and calm on the ball. (7/10)

Raul Albentosa: Proved aerially dominant, especially in the second period, but was caught out of position on a couple of occasions. Contributed to a strong second-half performance for his side. (6/10)

Abraham Minero: Scored an absolute stunner after 33 minutes - arrowing one into the top corner from outside the box. The goal marked what was an impressive all-round performance. (7/10)

Midfield

Dani Garcia: Slightly overshadowed by a number of his teammates on the night, but was still a busy presence in the middle of the park. (6/10)

Jon Errasi: Was tasked with stopping the supply to the likes of Gabi and Koke, and indeed performed that job impressively. That said, his passing was slightly untidy at times. (6/10)

Ander Capa: Contributed to his side's second-half performance with a busy showing in the final third. Always available and always willing to try that final pass. (7/10)

Attack

Javi Lara: Man-of-the-match performance from the 28-year-old. His delivery from set pieces was exceptional and he caused Atletico all sorts of problems with his quality on the ball. (8/10)

Mikel Arruabarrena: Perhaps should have done better with a chance in the latter stages of the first period, but he fired just wide. The striker's presence unnerved the Atletico defence. (6/10)

Angel Rodriguez: Missed a brilliant chance late on when he burst into the Atletico defence before poking his effort just wide. Proved to be a strong focal point for his side. (7/10)

Substitutes

Dani Nieto: Summer signing from Barcelona B was given the final 30 minutes this evening and showed his class with a number of brilliant touches in the final third. (7/10)

Manu del Moral: Well-travelled striker caused problems to the Atletico defence with his direct running, but struggled to seriously influence proceedings. (6/10)

Saul Berjon: Given the final 10 minutes at the Calderon and was full of running and enthusiasm. (6/10)
