Atletico Madrid targeting treble

Atletico Madrid president Enrique Cerezo targets a clean sweep of trophies this season.

Atletico Madrid president Enrique Cerezo believes that his side can triumph in La Liga, the Champions League and the Copa del Rey this season.

The capital outfit have lost just once in all competitions this campaign, with that run of form leaving them second in La Liga and pushing them into the latter stages of the Champions League.

"Right now we are aspiring to everything in the league, the Champions League and the Copa del Rey," Cerezo told A Bola.

"At the end of the season we shall see if we have won them all, some of them or none of them, but for now our philosophy is to take each game as they come. It will not be easy. Last year we were third, but calmly we may have finished second.

"The Champions League? It is very difficult to win because in it are big clubs and any moment in a game can prove decisive. I believe that to participate in it every season is important. You can go further or not in the competition, but the key is to be there."

Atletico face Porto in the Champions League tomorrow evening.
