Team News: Pedro starts against Athletic Bilbao

Pedro, who has been linked with a move away from Barcelona, will start for the Catalans in the first leg of the Spanish Super Cup away to Athletic Bilbao.

The Spaniard joins Luis Suarez and Lionel Messi in attack as Luis Enrique rings the changes from the side which won the European Super Cup against Sevilla on Tuesday.

Thomas Vermaelen makes his second start for the club in defence, while Sergi Roberto plays in a three-man midfield with Javier Mascherano and Rafinha.

Meanwhile, Athletic have given a start to striker Sabin Merino, who is a product of the Basque club's youth system.

He is joined in attack by 34-year-old Artiz Aduriz, fresh from scoring 26 goals last season.
