Fran Escriba pleased with point

Elche boss Fran Escriba is left content following Tuesday's goalless draw with Athletic Bilbao.

Elche boss Fran Escriba has praised his side following Tuesday's goalless draw with Athletic Bilbao.

The stalemate left Elche in 14th position in the La Liga table, but they are just three points from the bottom three with nine games remaining.

"Athletic are a great team with a great coach and we gave it our all," he told reporters at a press conference.

"If we didn't get many chances on goal it's because they didn't let us. I would be concerned if we didn't create chances.

"I'm not leaving the match disappointed. Scoring is the hardest thing to do in football."

Elche have won seven of their 30 league games this season.
