Marcelo Bielsa accepts responsibility after Copa del Rey defeat

Athletic Bilbao boss Marcelo Bielsa has said that he accepts full blame for his side's defeat in the Spanish cup final last night.

Bielsa's men, who were also beaten in the Europa League final earlier this month, conceded three first-half goals against eventual winners Barcelona. Speaking after the match, the Argentinian admitted that his tactics were unsuccessful.

"I represent and am responsible for a team that today did not carry through the plan I had established," he said.

"I accept that the approach we presented was not successful. I realise that. I'm the decision-maker. We will evaluate the coaching staff with a meeting between all parties concerned."

Bielsa took over at the San Mames last summer.
