Atalanta midfielder Cristian Raimondi has been ruled out for six months after he ruptured the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee.
The 33-year-old will be out until May after picking up the injury in last weekend's stalemate with Empoli.
Atalanta captain and Raimondi's teammates dedicated their midweek Coppa Italia victory to the midfielder and wish him a speedy recovery.
"This win is for Raimondi," Atalanta's captain Gianpaolo Bellini said, according to Sky Sports News.
"We are really going to miss him and we hope he will return as soon as possible."
Atalanta host fellow relegation strugglers Cesena this weekend, as the Bergamaschi are only four points above the visitors in 17th place.
