Report: Carles Gil to Aston Villa hit by agent setback

Aston Villa's move for Carles Gil has reportedly been hit by a last-minute setback over agents' fees.

According to PA, the Valencia midfielder's representatives have demanded more money at the 11th hour of the deal.

Gil arrived in Birmingham yesterday and Villa are said to be confident of completing the transfer, but their planned press conference for this afternoon has been postponed.

The 22-year-old is expected to sign a five-year deal, with Villa paying a fee of around £4m.
