Aston Villa close to Carles Gil deal?

Aston Villa are reportedly closing in on the signing of Carles Gil from Valencia.

The 22-year-old midfielder has found first-team opportunities limited at his hometown club this season.

Villa are thought to have agreed a £4m deal for Gil.

Gil will complete the formalities after flying to England, with the deal set to be announced later today, according to the Sutton Coldfield Observer.

Gil has scored one goal in 11 appearances this season.
