Premier League trio chase Jermain Defoe

Aston Villa, Queens Park Rangers and Sunderland are all understood to be chasing Tottenham Hotspur striker Jermain Defoe.

The 29-year-old was frustrated with a lack of opportunities at White Hart Lane last season.

He could now be on his way out of the club if he fails to feature regularly under new manager Andre Villas-Boas, according to The Metro.

Defoe scored the winner for England in Wednesday's 2-1 friendly win over Italy in Switzerland.
