Andy Gray: 'Managerial change could help Aston Villa'

Former Aston Villa striker Andy Gray suggests that a managerial change could help the club avoid relegation from the Premier League.

Former Aston Villa striker Andy Gray has suggested that the club should sack manager Paul Lambert.

The Villans dropped into the relegation zone last night with a 2-0 defeat at fellow strugglers Hull City.

Lambert's future at Villa Park is thought to be under threat, and Gray believes that a change in the dugout could benefit his old side.

"Villa have got all the hallmarks of a team that is going down," the Scot is quoted as saying by The Mirror. "I really worry for my old club. I'm not one for seeing people lose their jobs, but sometimes change is necessary. Paul is a great lad, but it just hasn't worked for him at Villa."

Villa are back in action on Sunday when they host Leicester City in the fifth round of the FA Cup.
