Mark Bosnich: 'Paul Lambert should quit Aston Villa'

Former Aston Villa goalkeeper Mark Bosnich believes that Paul Lambert should consider stepping down from his position as manager.

Former Aston Villa goalkeeper Mark Bosnich has expressed his belief that the time is approaching for Paul Lambert to consider his position as manager.

The Villa boss has come under fire after a run of eight Premier League games without a win, while his side have also failed to find the net in more than 10 hours of football.

Bosnich has stated that the Scot must shoulder the responsibility for the club's poor run of form, which has left them sitting just three points above the relegation zone.

"It is coming to a head. I have said time and time again that nobody is too good to go down. They can only flirt with relegation so many times before they go down," Bosnich told talkSPORT.

"Whichever job you are in, there comes a time when you being there is not the right thing. You have got to do the right thing and actually turn round and say, 'listen, maybe somebody can come in and do better'. I think it is approaching that moment for Paul.

"He has got to change. If he fails to adapt or change, somebody is going to pull the trigger for him. If they keep going like they are going, they will go down."

Lambert's side were thrashed 5-0 by Arsenal on Sunday.
