Wayne Routledge's first goal in the Premier League helps Swansea City take all three points from their trip to Aston Villa.

Wayne Routledge's first ever goal in the Premier League helped Swansea City claim their maiden away victory of the season at Aston Villa this afternoon.

The 26-year-old winger, who has had previous spells with Crystal Palace, Villa and Newcastle United, had previously gone 116 matches in the top flight without finding the net.

However, he ended the drought two minutes after the restart by turning in a rebounded effort from teammate Danny Graham.

Routledge's goal had actually doubled Swansea's advantage following Nathan Dyer's fourth-minute opener.

Alex McLeish's Villa struggled to create any goalscoring chances as they searched for a route back into the match. The closest they came is when a header from centre-back Richard Dunne landed on the roof of the net on the hour-mark.

The victory is Swansea's first away from home in the top flight since 1981.
