Tim Sherwood: 'I do not expect patience from fans'

Aston Villa manager Tim Sherwood insists that he does not expect fans to be patient following the club's testing start to the new Premier League campaign.

Aston Villa coach Tim Sherwood has revealed that he does not expect fans to be patient following the club's poor start to the new season.

The Villans already find themselves in a potential relegation-saving situation with the club situated in 18th place in the Premier League table after eight games.

"I don't expect them to be patient. I don't want to insult their intelligence. I, 100%, understand their frustration," said Sherwood, according to The Express.

"If they want to vent it on me that's what I'm there for. I get paid to do that. We need some men to come out of the woodwork.

"If I was a fan I would be totally frustrated as well but I have to tell them that they should try being a manager and putting it right."

Saturday's loss at home to Stoke City saw Villa record four straight league defeats in a row.
