Stiliyan Petrov: 'We believe in Alex McLeish'

Aston Villa captain Stiliyan Petrov is confident that Alex McLeish is the right man to take the Midlands club forward, despite a number of supporters expressing their discontent towards the Scottish boss.

A selection of fans hit out against the former Birmingham City boss following Villa's 2-1 defeat to Newcastle United.

"[McLeish] is strong," said Petrov. "He will never give up. He will keep fighting and keep driving us forward. We believe in him."

Villa are currently eight points above the relegation zone.
