Jores Okore focusing on next season

Aston Villa defender Jores Okore reveals that he expects to be fit for next season instead of the final few games of the current campaign.

Aston Villa defender Jores Okore has revealed that he is focusing on getting fit for next season instead of the final few games of the current campaign.

The Danish international has been out of action since September when he ruptured the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee.

While admitting that he could make a comeback in the remaining weeks of this season, Okore expects to be back in action over the summer.

"It is going well right now," he told BT Sport. "I am doing some training with the team, but I am not training full out. At the moment, it is rather up to me whether I feel it is a good idea to get myself back for the last matches or whether I shall focus on next season.

"That is what I am discussing with Paul Lambert. Right now, it looks like I will have to focus on the coming season."

Okore joined Villa from Danish side Nordsjaelland in June 2013.
