Jenas faces long-term absence

Aston Villa midfielder Jermaine Jenas could be ruled out for the rest of the season following an Achilles injury.

The 28-year-old was stretchered off during the side's 1-0 defeat to Manchester United at Villa Park on Saturday.

It is believed that the midfielder underwent a scan yesterday and could be sidelined for the remainder of the season if the injury requires surgery, according to the Daily Mail.

Jenas is currently on loan to the Midlands side from Tottenham Hotspur.
