Aston Villa forward Christian Benteke has insisted that he was always confident of returning to goalscoring form, despite spending seven months out of action with a ruptured Achilles.
The Belgian international has scored eight goals in his last six games, the latest of which resulted in all three points against Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday.
"You know the expectation, it is high, but when I came back I knew it was going to be hard," Benteke told reporters. "But I didn't put pressure on myself. I knew my time would come and I would get back to my old level.
"I have a big faith. In life you have some bad times and some good times and maybe now it's my good time and I just try to enjoy it."
Villa are now six points clear of the relegation zone.
