New Aston Villa signing Leandro Bacuna says that he is relishing the "challenge" with his new club.

New Aston Villa signing Leandro Bacuna has insisted that he is relishing the "challenge" at the Premier League outfit.

The Netherlands Under-21 international signed for the Midlands outfit this summer, and is hopeful that he can make enough of an impact to keep Villa away from another relegation fight.

"It's a new beginning for me, and a new step," Bacuna told the club's official website. "I'm looking forward to being part of this young, hungry team. The manager is trying to create a new generation, to build something here and improve us all as players.

"I'm up for the challenge. I always fight for the team. If you do that, you get a lot of supporters behind you. That's a huge thing."

Bacuna signed a three-year contract at Villa Park.
