Aston Villa team news: Who has Unai Emery selected for Young Boys Champions League game?

Bailey? Duran? Who has been selected in Villa's first-ever Champions League XI

Unai Emery has named Aston Villa's XI for Tuesday's Champions League fixture at Young Boys, the club's first-ever game in this format of the competition.

During his pre-match press conference, Emery hinted that he would consider making alterations for the encounter in Switzerland.

However, the Spaniard has opted to select the same starting lineup from Saturday's thrilling 3-2 victory over Everton.

Jhon Duran would have felt in contention to feature in attack having scored his third winning goal of the 2024-25 Premier League campaign.

Meanwhile, Leon Bailey has been passed fit after injury, and Kosta Nedeljkovic could have gotten the nod ahead of Lamare Bogarde at right-back.

Nevertheless, Emery is seemingly determined to take his chances with his current crop, despite the fact that they went 2-0 down to the Toffees at the weekend.

Five changes for Young Boys

As for Young Boys, head coach Patrick Rahmen has made as many as five changes for what will be regarded as one of their best chances to get points on the board.

Jaouen Hadjam, Tanguy Zoukrou, Ebrima Colley, Sandro Lauper and Silvere Ganvoula have all been brought into the team.

Despite currently sitting at the bottom of the Swiss Super League standings, Young Boys have put together a five-match unbeaten streak in all competitions.
