Radamel Falcao still hopes to play in World Cup

Falcao hopes to play in World Cup

Radamel Falcao has revealed that he has not given up hope of playing in this summer's World Cup in Brazil.

The Colombian striker damaged his anterior cruciate ligament in January, making him a doubt for the tournament, which gets underway in June.

The AS Monaco player told the club's official TV channel: "I am feeling well and the progress of my knee has been spectacular, I work a bit more each day, my recovery is progressing in a positive way.

"I hope to recover well and be in the World Cup, although I am focused mostly on my job and this current moment.

"I watch all Monaco matches, we will keep improving, there were many changes this season and we should not rush things, but our team are slowly feeling better, and our main goal is to play the Champions League next season."

Falcao has been working at a sports clinic in Madrid while recovering from surgery, which was carried out in Porto last month.
