Joao Moutinho saves point for Monaco against Caen

Joao Moutinho scored a late equaliser as Monaco stretched their unbeaten Ligue 1 run to six games with a 2-2 draw against Caen.

Leonardo Jardim's side were gifted the lead in the fifth minute when Emmanuel Imorou inadvertently put the ball into his own net, after Dimitar Berbatov had seen his effort blocked.

Bernardo Silva should have scored Monaco's second a few moments later, but his low effort was saved by Remi Vecoutre following an inch-perfect through ball from Valere Germain.

Despite spending most of the first half on the back foot, Caen were almost level when Herve Bazile's curled effort was pushed away by Danijel Subasic.

Caen enjoyed a spell on top early in the second half, and they were back on level terms in the 50th minute when Bengali-Fode Koita's powerful strike from the edge of the box left Subasic with no chance.

Monaco's struggles were clear after the equaliser, and the home supporters were left shocked nine minutes later when Geoffrey Kondogbia headed into his own net at the near post while attempting to clear a corner.

Caen dropped deeper to defend their slender lead as Monaco's frustration continued with Vercoutre tipping Berbatov's header over the crossbar.

However, they were denied victory as Moutinho pulled the hosts level in the 75th minute with an emphatic finish from Yannick Ferreira-Carrasco's cutback.
