Half-Time Report: AS Monaco peg back Lyon

Lucas Ocampos cancels out Nabil Fekir's strike as Ligue 1 heavyweights AS Monaco and Lyon go into the break of their match at Stade de Gerland level at 1-1.

Lucas Ocampos scored a 39th-minute equaliser to earn AS Monaco half-time parity with Lyon this evening.

Nabil Fekir's second professional goal had given Lyon a 1-0 lead over their fellow early-season strugglers.

The 21-year-old midfielder ran on to a Steed Malbranque pass to shoot into the bottom corner on the half-hour mark.

The goal came just after Monaco's best spell of the opening 45 minutes, in which Yannick Ferreira-Carrasco headed straight at Anthony Lopes from Dimitar Berbatov's cross and Layvin Kurzawa nodded wide.

They took only nine minutes to put the scores back on level terms, however, as Geoffrey Kondogbia released Ocampos to apply the finishing touches to a rapid Monaco counter-attack at Stade de Gerland.

Ocampos had provided Kondogbia with an equalising chance before the roles were reversed, while Alexandre Lacazette found the side-netting for Lyon at 1-0, in what was an end-to-end first period.

Lyon and Monaco finished in the top five last season, but are currently 17th and 15th in the table respectively.
