Arsene Wenger believes that Lukas Podolski will be able to turn Arsenal into Premier League title challengers again.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger believes that the potential signing of Lukas Podolski will aid Robin van Persie up front and will help the Gunners become title-winners.

The German striker is expected to make the switch to the Emirates in the summer, despite Wenger denying that a deal has already been agreed.

"Yes [we want Podolski] because we want to add some offensive strikers," the Daily Mail quotes Wenger as saying.

"Many times people say we rely too much on Van Persie, which is true. but if we can find world-class players, we will [challenge for the title]."

Arsenal have launched up to third place in the Premier League table, three points clear of local rivals Tottenham Hotspur.
