Arsene Wenger considers approach for Winston Reid?

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is reportedly considering a potential move for West Ham United defender Winston Reid.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has reportedly identified Winston Reid as the perfect candidate to provide another option in his defence.

Wenger recently revealed that he would like to sign another defender before the end of the transfer window, and the West Ham United centre-back is believed to be on his radar.

According to The Times, the Gunners boss has not yet given the green light for the club to make an official approach for the New Zealand international.

Reid has entered the final year of his contract at Upton Park, and it remains unclear whether he is eager to extend his stay in East London.

West Ham signed Reid from FC Midtjylland in 2010.
