Arsene Wenger: 'No contract negotiations for Nacho Monreal'

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has confirmed that there have not yet been any contract negotiations between Nacho Monreal and the club.

The 29-year-old, who moved to the Emirates in 2013, has entered the final year of his contract.

Monreal featured heavily for the Gunners last season amid an injury crisis, with the Spanish international filling in both at left-back and centre-back.

Speaking to reporters at a press conference, Wenger said: "I'm happy with his performances but at the moment we are not in negotiations for a new contract."

Monreal has made 62 league appearances for Arsenal, scoring once.
