Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez will commit his long-term future to the club if Arsene Wenger steps aside next summer, according to a report in the Spanish press.

Alexis Sanchez is reportedly in two minds over whether to commit to Arsenal on a long-term basis, but his decision could be made easier if manager Arsene Wenger departs the club next summer.

The in-form Chile international is still deliberating over a new contract offer at the Emirates Stadium, as he enters the final 18 months of his current deal.

Spanish publication Don Balon claims that the Arsenal forward wants rid of Wenger if he is to put pen to paper and end speculation over his future, believing that fresh blood is now required for a serious title challenge.

It is claimed that Sanchez is also holding out for a huge increase on his £130,00-a-week contract, which he is hoping will be more than doubled before even considering a long-term contract offer.

Wenger, who is himself yet to agree fresh terms with the Gunners, admits that Sanchez - and fellow star Mesut Ozil - could run down their deals in North London before leaving the club for free in 2018.
