Report: Arsenal make improved Wilshere offer

Arsenal have reportedly made an improved offer to Jack Wilshere in an attempt to end the contract standoff with the midfielder.

Wilshere is due to become a free agent next month after failing to agree fresh terms with the Gunners since opening negotiations earlier this season.

The England international is said to have originally been offered wages of £90,000 a week, which is a drop of £20,000 from his current salary, but The Mirror reports that the North London outfit have now made a better offer.

Arsenal are willing to give Wilshere in excess of £100,000 a week as they fear losing one of their longest-serving players in the same summer that boss Arsene Wenger leaves.

Wolverhampton Wanderers and Everton are rumoured to be waiting to pounce if the 26-year-old becomes a free agent, while Juventus and AC Milan have also been tipped to make a move.
