Real Madrid could reportedly move for Fiorentina's Dusan Vlahovic if they are unsuccessful in their attempts to sign Erling Braut Haaland from Borussia Dortmund this summer.
Haaland is expected to leave BVB ahead of the 2022-23 campaign when a £63m release clause becomes active, and Real Madrid are believed to lead the race for the Norway international.
However, Manchester City are also thought to be well placed to sign the 21-year-old, and according to El Nacional, Los Blancos have identified Vlahovic as an alternative to the Norwegian.
Vlahovic has entered the final 18 months of his contract with Fiorentina and is refusing to sign an extension, so he is expected to leave the Italian giants this year.
Arsenal continue to be strongly linked with the 21-year-old, but there have been suggestions that he is not convinced by the project at the Emirates Stadium.
The Serbia international has scored 19 times in 23 appearances for Fiorentina during the 2021-22 campaign, including 16 goals in 20 Serie A outings.
The arrival of a new centre-forward at the Bernabeu this year could allegedly lead to Karim Benzema leaving the club.
