Lukas Podolski confirms that Andre Santos is heading for the Arsenal exit door by sending the Brazilian full-back a goodbye message on Twitter.

Arsenal forward Lukas Podolski has confirmed that Andre Santos will leave the club this week by sending a goodbye message to the full-back on Twitter.

Santos flew to Brazil on Sunday to complete a loan deal with Gremio after falling down the pecking order at the Emirates Stadium following the arrival of Nacho Monreal.

Podolski played alongside Santos on a few occasions this season and has sent the left-back a farewell message on the social networking site.

The German international tweeted: "We will miss you man, I wish you all the very best #Gunner God bless you."

Arsenal are yet to release any official word on the exit of Santos despite the 29-year-old declaring in an interview with a Brazilian radio station that he is "excited" to join Gremio.
