Arsenal transfer news: ‘No chance’ that Gunners forward departs despite reduced role

‘No chance’ for Arsenal forward's departure amid Turkish links

Arsenal are reportedly reluctant to sell a squad player despite an influx of forward signings before September 1's deadline.

The Gunners brought in Viktor Gyokeres from Sporting Lisbon in the summer, while further signings of Noni Madueke from Chelsea and Eberechi Eze from Crystal Palace have added match-winning quality and depth to the North London side.

These signings, together with the presence of Bukayo Saka, Kai Havertz, Gabriel Martinelli, Ethan Nwaneri, Gabriel Jesus and teenage sensation Max Dowman, provide Mikel Arteta’s team with several options across various positions.

While Gyokeres has already scored twice for Arsenal, new arrivals Madueke and Eze have been gradually introduced by Arteta, although the ex-Chelsea man started in the Gunners' 1-0 defeat to Liverpool before the international break.

With these arrivals, it is no surprise that rumours are swirling about the futures of some of the current players in the team’s attack.

Arsenal decide on squad player amid Besiktas interest

According to Sky Sports News, Besiktas are interested in signing Leandro Trossard in the final days of their summer window.

Besiktas can still sign players until their window shuts on Friday, and the Istanbul club are reportedly keen to bring the 30-year-old to the Super Lig.

The report, however, states that there is 'no chance’ the Belgian will depart the Premier League club in the next few days.

Trossard, an unused substitute in Arsenal's defeat at Anfield, has reportedly accepted a new contract to stay at the Emirates.

However, the deal reportedly does not change the potential exit year in 2027, as it is only a pay rise for the former Brighton & Hove Albion star.

Trossard has featured 93 times for Arsenal since joining the Gunners in January 2023, scoring 21 league goals during that period.

Will Trossard get ample competitive games at Arsenal?

Considering the summer arrivals, there is a chance that Trossard's game time will be limited in the 2025-26 season.

It was notable that Arteta turned to Eze at Anfield despite the Belgian being among the substitutes.

With Madueke also skilled at playing on the left flank, the former Chelsea winger’s direct style could be more valued by the Arsenal manager than Trossard.

Eze's versatility also puts the England international ahead of Trossard for attacking midfield roles, and Havertz's presence means the Germany international could be deployed centrally if Gyokeres is given a rest.
