Manchester City sign Bacary Sagna

France right-back Bacary Sagna signs a three-year deal to join Manchester City from Arsenal on a free transfer.

Premier League side Arsenal have confirmed that right-back Bacary Sagna has left to join Manchester City on a free transfer following the expiry of his contract.

The transfer has been expected for a number of weeks, with reports that City would complete the deal on Friday, and now the Gunners have made the news official on their Twitter feed.

Sagna, who is currently with the France squad at the World Cup in Brazil, will officially become a part of the City squad later in the summer.

The Premier League champions have confirmed that the player has signed a three-year deal, which will see him remain at the club until the age of 34.

"Manchester City are delighted to announce that Bacary Sagna will join the club for next season," City said in a statement. "He will take up the vacant squad number three, the same number he wore for the Gunners."

Sagna made 213 league appearances for Arsenal after joining in 2007.
