Manchester City set sights on Villarreal defender Pau Torres?

Manchester City are reportedly prepared to press ahead with an approach for Villarreal defender Pau Torres.

Manchester City are reportedly ready to make an approach for Villarreal defender Pau Torres.

Although City find themselves in a state of limbo regarding their future in the Champions League, Pep Guardiola is continuing to identify targets ahead of the next transfer window.

According to ESPN, priority will be placed on bringing in a new centre-back, which could lead to Villarreal defender Torres making the switch to the Etihad Stadium.

The 23-year-old, who made his international debut for Spain last year, has featured in 24 La Liga fixtures during the current campaign.

However, with the player still having four years left on his contract, Villarreal remain in a strong position regarding his future.

Arsenal have previously been credited with an interest in Torres.
