Real Madrid 'activate Alvaro Morata buy-back clause'

Real Madrid reportedly trigger the buy-back clause in the contract of Juventus striker and rumoured Arsenal and Chelsea target Alvaro Morata.

Real Madrid have activated their buy-back clause in the contract of Juventus striker Alvaro Morata, according to reports.

Morata moved to Turin from the Spanish capital two years ago, but Los Blancos inserted a €30m (£23m) buy-back clause in his contract that allows them to bring him back to the Santiago Bernabeu.

Reports have suggested that the Spain international, who is currently at Euro 2016 with his country, is able to turn down the move himself, but Juventus must accept the offer.

"Real Madrid will activate their buy-back clause for Alvaro Morata, we'll see what happens after that," Sport Mediaset quotes Juve sporting director Beppe Marotta as saying.

Previous speculation has claimed that Madrid are looking to re-sign Morata in order to sell him on for around €75m (£57.5m), with both Arsenal and Chelsea rumoured to be interested in the striker.
