Liverpool 'cool interest in Moises Caicedo'

Liverpool are reportedly moving their attention away from the signing of Brighton & Hove Albion's Moises Caicedo as they focus targets such as Alexis Mac Allister.

Liverpool have reportedly cooled their interest in Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Moises Caicedo, handing a boost to the likes of Arsenal and Chelsea in the race for his services.

The Ecuadorian has been on the minds of top clubs since the start of this Premier League campaign - one in which the player has been a key part of a Seagulls side chasing down European football.

Having played 31 matches in the league for the South Coast side, a host of Brighton's Premier League counterparts have reportedly seen enough to be tempted into a move for the 21-year-old - although Jurgen Klopp's side could be out of the running.

According to Football Insider, Liverpool have moved their attention away from the signing of Caicedo this summer and are instead focusing on securing a deal for his teammate Alexis Mac Allister.

The report adds that the Reds have been in contact with representatives of midfield targets Mason Mount and World Cup winner Mac Allister since the turn of the year, however the same cannot be said in terms of Caicedo.

Liverpool will continue their late push for a Champions League spot when they welcome Brentford to Anfield on Saturday evening - a win in Merseyside would be their sixth-straight success in the league.
