Alexsander Hleb released by Barcelona

Barcelona have released former Arsenal midfielder Alexander Hleb from his contract at the Nou Camp.

The Belarus international joined the Catalan giants in 2008 for a fee reported to be in the region of €15m (£12.5m).

However, Hleb has hardly featured for Barca over the past two seasons and left the club to join German side Stuttgart on loan in 2009.

Further loan spells at Birmingham City and Wolfsburg followed before the 30-year-old returned to Spain over the New Year.

Hleb made only 19 appearances for Barca in nearly four years at the club.
