Matteo Guendouzi has said that he is determined to fight for his place at Arsenal once he returns from his spell on loan with Hertha Berlin.
The 21-year-old fell out of favour under Mikel Arteta and did not feature for the club between June and October, at which point he was sent to Hertha for the rest of 2020-21.
Guendouzi has another year to run on his Emirates Stadium contract and, despite reports that he is not wanted by the Gunners, the France Under-21s international has vowed to give his all to win over Arteta next season.
"I am focused on my season with Hertha Berlin," he told France Football. "Next, we will sit down with my entourage and people at the club to discuss the future.
"This summer will be a decisive moment. I belong to Arsenal for another year. From the moment that I am playing for Arsenal, I will give everything for the club, fans, team, and staff.
"I will work hard for the shirt as I have always done."
Guendouzi has made 19 Bundesliga appearances for Hertha, who are in the relegation playoff zone with nine games left to play.
