La Liga outfit Espanyol turn down an enquiry from Arsenal for Spanish forward Raul de Tomas.

Espanyol director Jose Maria Duran has revealed that the Catalan club have turned down an enquiry from Arsenal for Spanish forward Raul de Tomas.

The 27-year-old has been in impressive scoring form during the 2021-22 campaign, finding the back of the net on 12 occasions in 23 appearances for his La Liga club.

A recent report claimed that the Gunners had identified De Tomas as a transfer target, with Mikel Arteta's side determined to sign a new striker before the winter window closes for business.

However, Espanyol have told the Premier League club that the Spain international is not for sale.

"Arsenal called for Raul de Tomas but we didn't even want to talk. We won't let him go now, no way. His release clause is €75m (£62.5m)," Duran told Esport 3.

De Tomas has netted 40 goals and provided five assists in 76 outings for Espanyol in all competitions since making the move from Benfica in 2020.
