Bordeaux, Rennes in talks with Laurent Koscielny?

French sides Bordeaux and Rennes are reportedly in talks with wantaway Arsenal captain Laurent Koscielny.

The 33-year-old notably refused to travel on the Gunners' pre-season tour of the USA earlier this summer in an attempt to force the club to release him for his current contract.

Sky Sports News reports that, despite Arsenal boss Unai Emery's best attempts to win Koscielny over, the defender is still set on a move back to his native country.

Although Bordeaux sent representatives to London to discuss a potential deal, it is believed that neither of the Ligue 1 sides are currently close to Arsenal's valuation.

The former Lorient man is currently the North London side's longest-serving player, having made more than 350 appearances since joining in 2010.

Koscielny's exit from the Emirates would leave the Gunners with only four recognised centre-backs ahead of the new season and little time to sign a replacement before the transfer window closes on Thursday.
