Barcelona consider a summer approach for Arsenal forward Alexandre Lacazette, according to a report.

Barcelona are reportedly considering a summer approach for Arsenal forward Alexandre Lacazette.

The Frenchman has been a vital player for the Gunners during the 2021-22 campaign, making 26 appearances in all competitions, contributing five goals and eight assists in the process.

Lacazette's contract at the Emirates Stadium is due to expire at the end of June, though, and he is widely expected to leave the capital giants in search of pastures new.

Lyon have been strongly linked with their former striker, while Atletico Madrid are believed to be interested in bringing him to Spain for the 2022-23 campaign.

According to le10sport, Barcelona are also keeping a close eye on the developments, with the Catalan outfit considering moving for the striker on a free transfer.

The report claims that Xavi's team will look to sign Lacazette if they miss out on a deal for Borussia Dortmund's Erling Braut Haaland, who continues to be strongly linked with Manchester City.

Lacazette has scored 70 goals and registered 36 assists in 196 appearances for Arsenal in all competitions.
