Arsenal are reportedly prepared to allow William Saliba to leave on loan in January, with the Frenchman yet to appear for the Gunners first team.

Arsenal are reportedly happy to sanction a January loan exit for out-of-favour defender William Saliba.

The 19-year-old is yet to feature in a competitive match for Mikel Arteta's team this season and has been restricted to appearances for the youth teams.

Saliba recently claimed that he had been "locked up" at Arsenal in a now-deleted Instagram comment, and according to Sky Sports News, the Gunners are happy to let the Frenchman leave on loan next month.

The report claims that the Gunners want Saliba to have more regular first-team action before he turns out for Arteta's side, but the powers-that-be at the Emirates Stadium are reportedly concerned that the teenager is not Premier League material.

Should Saliba indeed head for the exit door in January, the former Saint-Etienne man would supposedly want to stay in the UK for his next loan spell.

Without Saliba, the Gunners are languishing in 15th before they welcome an in-form Southampton side to the Emirates Stadium tomorrow.
