Report: Arsenal to sign Romulo from Spartak Moscow in exchange for Yaya Sanogo

Arsenal are interested in signing Spartak Moscow midfielder Romulo in January, with Yana Sanogo going the other way on loan, according to reports.

Arsenal are looking to sign Spartak Moscow midfielder Romulo in January in a deal which includes offering striker Yana Sanogo on loan, according to reports.

The 24-year-old Brazilian joined the Russian club from Vasco in 2012, making 18 appearances for Murat Yakin's charges following a long-term injury layoff.

The Express claims that Arsene Wenger, eager to recruit a midfield anchor to shore up the middle of the park, has earmarked Romulo for the role, with Spartak reportedly asking for £9.5m plus the loaning of Sanogo.

Romulo has been capped eight times for the Brazil national team.
