Arsenal are reportedly considering a summer approach for Sporting Lisbon winger Gelson Martins.

Sporting Lisbon winger Gelson Martins has reportedly emerged as a possible transfer target for Arsenal.

Last month, the Gunners announced that Unai Emery had been appointed as the replacement for Arsene Wenger and the Spaniard is said to have £70m to spend in the summer window.

According to O Jogo, Martins is on Arsenal's shortlist ahead of next season, with Emery looking to make a number of changes to his first-team squad.

Last season, Martins - who has frequently been linked with a switch to the Premier League - contributed eight goals and eight assists in 31 league appearances for Sporting.

The Portuguese club are keen to keep hold of the 23-year-old, whose contract runs until 2022, but the attacker has a release clause of £52.7m.
