Arsenal keep tabs on Fiorentina’s Juan Manuel Vargas

Arsenal are reportedly preparing to launch a bid for Fiorentina midfielder Juan Manuel Vargas in the January transfer window.

The 27-year-old, who joined Fiorentina in 2008, was targeted by the Premier League side throughout the summer but they failed to offer a bid to the Italian side.

Reports in Italy suggest that the Gunners are hoping to lure the playmaker to the Emirates with Fiorentina looking for a bid in the region of £13m, according to talkSPORT.

Vargas, who can also play in defence, has two years left on his current contract with the Serie A side.
