Aaron Ramsey is believed to be considering an offer of a new five-year contract by Arsenal amid reports of Unai Emery wanting to build the team around the Welshman.

Aaron Ramsey has been offered a new five-year contract by Arsenal, according to reports.

The Wales midfielder, whose Gunners deal expires at the end of next season, has been locked in talks with the club for much of the 2017-18 campaign.

Ramsey is believed to have turned down every offer from Arsenal so far, but on Tuesday he hinted towards staying at the club after the appointment of new manager Unai Emery.

According to The Times, Arsenal have reacted to Emery's instructions of wanting to build the team around Ramsey, offering the player a five-year deal which includes a significant wage increase.

The report goes on to claim that Arsenal are desperate to avoid a repeat of last season, with the likes of Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil seeing their contracts run down.

Ramsey has made 331 appearances for the North London club, scoring 59 goals and registering 57 assists.
