Arsenal join Nuri Sahin chase

Arsenal are reportedly trying to convince Real Madrid's Nuri Sahin to stall on his proposed move to Liverpool.

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is lining up the Turkish international as a replacement for Alex Song should he opt to join Barcelona.

Wenger will step up his bid for the player should he end up losing Song to the Spanish giants, and is willing to match Liverpool's offer, The Sun reports.

Arsenal are hoping that the opportunity to play Champions League football next season will be enough to lure him away from Anfield.
